COMMON GROUND ON THE BORDER
JANUARY 14-16, 2027
THE GOOD SHEPHERD UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
SAHUARITA, ARIZONA

The United States-Mexico borderlands have always been a beautiful mix of culture, language, cuisine, economies, and people. It has also been a place of struggle, high and low temperatures, a fragile environment, and the push and pull of immigration.
The borderlands are the perfect place to explore the arts, touch the culture, and have deeper conversations about the complicated issues that collide here. We hope you will come and explore with us all the possibilities.
Thursday is a day of engaging field trips to immerse ourselves in the culture, life, and issues along the US/Mexico border. Then there will be an evening film screening of the documentary, "The Culture of Humanitarian Work"" by Julia Ortiz-Tzul.
On Friday we will have speakers in the morning and early afternoon, classes in the afternoon, and a great dinner followed by an evening fiesta with music by Gertie and the T.O. Boyz.
On Saturday we will have yet another set of speakers and the "Border Fair" on the patio giving you a chance to meet and talk with several of the humanitarian organizations in the area. Then there will be more classes in the afternoon and another great dinner followed by the conference closing by organizer Randy Mayer and a delightful treat of wonderful music by Trio los Waldos.
